Patient can complete at home using a peroxide-based gel placed on the enamel surface with a custom tray. Processing usually takes ten days and should be repeated every year for best results.
Treatment can be accelerated by starting with the application of a more concentrated peroxide gel in the clinic and using a high intensity light to activate the reaction. However, treatment should be continued at home with the conventional product for at least a week so that the color change is lasting.
The bleaching treatment does not damage the tooth but can make teeth sensitive and temporarily irritate the gums. To assure overall comfort throughout the treatment, we suggest you space the applications in order to allow the teeth and gums the time to recover. We also recommend using a re-mineralizing paste in prevention during the treatment to improve your overall comfort.
