Therefore we must take special precautions when we do the removal of the mercury filling material and especially in the grinding process which greatly increases its temperature. We follow the IAOMT (International Academy of Medicine and Toxicology http://www.iaomt.org/) recommendations to protect our patients and avoid side effects.
To summarize we give you activated charcoal (a natural absorbent), we place a rubber dam (to capture the debris from the fillings), we use a mask providing fresh air to the nose, we keep the temperature low by using a large amount of water and we support the immune system with vitamin C supplementation.
